Winter Weekend 2011

12 friends, fresh snow, and an entire weekend up North - so much fun! Last weekend when the Packers were not playing, we packed our cars to the windows and ventured up North. Paul & Betty organized everything and we had meals and activities planned. Above is the house and then more pictures to follow, which will show that WE ALL had fun! First adventure was a stop half way up to pick up Pat & Al because their car decided to stay in Sheboygan for the weekend, waiting for a diagnosis. B&B and Tom & Lee picked them up and split their gear between 2 cars - lots on Al's mind all weekend, but we were all together! A trailer was rented Saturday morning, Bill would pull it on Sunday's trip home, to get Al's car. Friends figure things out! Al will keep us posted on the demise or repair of his Toyota.

There were 3 friends in the warming house guarding and enjoying our Bushwacker "Hot Chocolate" supply, and Wenda delivered some to the tubers - Joanne admitted: that was the life, being pulled up the hill, sitting on her tube, enjoying her "hot chocolate". Meanwhile, over on another hill, Larry was skiing, only man on the hill with a bunch of snow boarders. What a perfect place to be on a winter Saturday afternoon.

But...our time was about up and the perfect pub (Footbridge) called us to visit (take over the bar) in our snow gear. Pool, juke box, dancing, great burgers, and a tiny afternoon buzz with friends.

And then there were the meals ... supper clubs both Friday and Saturday nights, breakfast egg bakes, Larry's fresh fruit salad, Racine cringle, snacks at all times, buckwheat blueberry pancakes, coffee cakes, sausages, and two large pots of soup to end our Sunday - chili & Kentucky Burgoo. We had assigned sleeping areas that were comfortable and private, and lucky Bob got to sleep in a room with 3 ladies! One bathroom was the largest any of us had ever seen. Played cards, went for walks, played Catch Phrase (without scoring), talked about cinnamon toast more than once, some tried snow shoeing (thank you Tom!), played with Daisy (Scott's dog), played more cards and did an abundance of laughing and chatting.
